It’s been my first day as a reporter for adamsdownhere, and I was delighted that there were blue skies above me as I walked around Adamsdown. Being such a sunny day people were happy to stop and chat about their favourite books for our lead story on World Book Day. Clearly an amazing amount of reading goes on in Adamsdown.
I rushed back to the Atrium with my precious audio material to discover David putting the finishing touches to some filming for another feature. Upstairs in our team room Chris was grappling with a few technical hitches on the website.
Back off out again for me. I paid a visit to the Adamsdown Day Centre next to St Germans Church.
I had a wonderful time finding out about the exploits of staff and club members alike. You can see from the photos that bingo is one of their pleasures. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I’m looking forward to telling you more about the day centre in a web site feature – so look out for that.
I just had time to to go back to the Atrium for lunch and was thrilled to disover that David had edited the World Book Day audio together, and Chris had written the story – great team work if I say so myself.
My final trip of the day led to the discovery of a giraffe in Adamsdown – no I’m not going to tell you where, you’ll just have to wait to find out.
I’ve had a marvellous time as a reporter today – but boy are my feet sore!
(PS I’ve tried to get the layout for this blog just right but to no avail – to keep my sanity I think I shall just have to post like this).
